Neighbors Helping Neighbors

When you donate to Oregon HEAT, you are helping your neighbors keep their vital utilities on during the cold months. After all, 429,000 Oregon households may need to choose between eating and heating this winter. That is where our programs help.

We Are Not-For-Profit

We may not be a utility providing heat and lights, but we are for giving warmth and kindness to our fellow neighbors. Together with our many donors, and our agency network that help us determine eligibility, we keep the lights on and heat running (including oil, propane and wood) for those in need.

Are you looking for help to pay your utility or heating bill? Click here and we will help you find a community or social service agency in your area.

For more than 20 years, PGE has been proud to advocate for greater state and federal funding of low-income energy assistance programs and to partner with Oregon HEAT to assist tens of thousands of our customers in need.

Oil Recycling Program

Partnering with ORRCO, an award-winning environmental oil recycler, we began a nationally recognized Oil Recycling Program in November 2007. Since then, we've recycled thousands of gallons of oil donated by individuals, businesses and industry, keeping used petroleum out of landfills, and using the funds generated to help local families stay safe and warm in their homes.

Donate Your Used Oil

If you're a business, we can help you save money on disposal charges, reduce the impact your used oil has on the Earth, and help keep area families warm. We will work with you to determine how many gallons of your specific petroleum product can be refined or recycled on a regular basis. Then we will coordinate with ORRCO to arrange for regularly scheduled pick-ups. To donate your used oil, or to learn more, call us at (503) 612-3790 or email info@oregonheat.org.

Encouraging Energy Self-Reliance

Working with those in our network, we are encouraging Oregonians to learn energy conservation. Read more about the Oregon HEAT agency network and find one in your area.
