Oregon HEAT Receives a $250,000 Grant from Meyer Memorial Trust for Emergency Energy Assistance Now in the middle of its 20th year of helping low-income Oregon families in critical need of emergency energy assistance, Oregon HEAT, a statewide independent non-profit organization, is again demonstrating its ability to respond quickly to community needs with incoming donations.  Meyer Memorial Trust, created by the personal philanthropy of Fred G. Meyer, awarded Oregon HEAT  a special grant for "emergency energy assistance" to help Oregon families outside the Portland metropolitan area.   [read more]

Local 2067 Completes $40,000 ‘Season of Giving'
January 2009:
Surrounded by other local union officers and members, Oregon AFSCME Local 2067 President Jack Tucker presented checks totaling $10,000 to two energy assistance agencies on Jan. 15, wrapping up the local's 2008-09 "Holiday Season of Giving" which saw the union donate over $40,000 to a variety of community causes.
