Oil Program Spotlight: Everett Street Autoworks
Head down to the heart of Portland’s Old Town district and you can find Everett Street Autoworks, one of the City’s premier, privately-owned auto repair shops. Owner Jake Hammer and his crew of ASE Certified technicians have been satisfying customers with their excellent customer service and repair work since 2001.
Everett Street Autoworks is coming up on their first anniversary as part of our Oil Recycling Program. Since joining in March of 2011, they’ve donated thousands of gallons of used oil and are really making a stand to help low-income families in their neighborhood. Community involvement is nothing new for Jake, who says they constantly strive to help the local community whenever they can. “It seems like a no-brainer,” he says when asked about why he chose to participate in the Oil Recycling Program. “This was one of the easiest, seamless ways to help the community. It’s a turn-key way to help and it was simple to implement within our business process.”
The shop has been awarded the EcoBiz certification for their commitment to sustainable business practices, so the positive environmental impacts of the Oil Recycling Program are another plus for Jake. His used oil is being re-refined into new petroleum products, and he appreciates the excellent service he receives from Oil Re-Refining Company (ORRCO). Jake adds, “ORRCO does a great job. In my opinion, they are the best at what they do.”
Everett Street Autoworks is AAA approved and located at 509 NW Everett St in Portland. Please note that appointments are needed for an oil change, so be sure to call before dropping by.
