Thank You For Your Support of the Oil Recycling Program in 2011

I'd like to say thank you to everyone that has supported the Oil Recycling Program over the last year. We've made some great gains in the program, and we are generating more energy assistance funds because of it. Whether you have donated oil yourself, or have helped spread the word about the program, you've helped us grow and we are looking forward to an exciting 2012. Here are a couple of stats that I've shared with our Oil Program donors:

• In Fiscal Year 2009/2010 we recycled about 33,795 gallons of used oil. That helped about 137 people with emergency energy assistance.
• In Fiscal Year 2010/2011 we increased that to 58,912 gallons of used oil. That is a gain of 25,117 gallons, and will help about 238 people!
• Organizations ranging from small private auto shops to large public fleets are joining us to help keep people safe and warm in their homes. We grew from 21 commercial/government oil donors to 74 this last fiscal year.

We expect to recycle even more oil in the upcoming year as more organizations join the program. If you've been reading our newsletters, you know that the overall level of funding for emergency energy assistance in Oregon is down from previous years. That means Oil Program funds are more important than ever to help fill the gap.

Thank you again for everything you've done in 2011 for the Oil Program and Oregon HEAT. My best wishes to you and your families for a safe and warm holiday season.

Roger Anderson
Oil Program Director
